Why it exists
Most free invoice generators are a funnel. The document is bait; the product is the account you’re meant to create, the subscription you’re meant to start, and the customer data you hand over on the way. That’s a reasonable business, but it’s a poor deal if all you needed was one invoice on a Tuesday.
Opsliy is the other thing: the document, finished, with nothing attached to it.
The rule
Nothing you type is sent anywhere. Every calculation, the PDF layout, even the QR encoder runs in your browser. It’s a real constraint. It rules out saved history, reminder emails and shared team templates, and it’s the reason the rest of the site can be honest about privacy without a page of qualifications.
Who it’s for
Freelancers, workshops, small traders, side businesses. People who invoice a handful of clients a month and don’t need accounting software, or who need one document today and haven’t decided about software yet. It was built with Nairobi in mind, with KES first in the currency list and mobile money in the payment guidance, and works the same anywhere.
Where it’s going
More document types, better defaults, per-line tax and discounts, an offline install. Nothing that requires uploading what you typed.
